Future of UC Resource Sharing Project Team (FRSPT)

Changing service needs in the resource sharing field and growing dissatisfaction with the current University of California interlibrary loan (ILL) management system, Virtual Desktop eXchange (VDX), created an opportunity to review options for migration to a new resource sharing system. In August 2015, the Strategic Action Group 2: Access, Discovery & Infrastructure (SAG2) established the Future of UC Resource Sharing Project Team and charged them with investigating and making a recommendation for a new suite of resource sharing services.

FRSPT Phase 1 concluded in May 2016 with a recommendation for pursuing several different systems in an RFP, as well as handover activities for a second phase of work.

FRSPT Phase 2 began in August 2016, with the objective of continuing to investigate resource sharing services and conduct an RFP for a new suite of systems. The full charge and roster are listed on this site. The Phase 2 report has been released and Phase 2 is scheduled to conclude in June 2017.

Phase 1 & 2 Charges and Reports can be viewed in the Documents section of this webpage.
