1. Discussion of the transmittal letter for the Digital Reference Common Interest Group report.
Action : Hughes will draft a transmittal letter for review by July 7.
The report, cover letter, and updated quote from OCLC will be forwarded to SOPAG in time for their July 21 meeting.
The new chair of the CIG will be the "manager" of the production service as well as CIG chair so we need to choose a new Chair carefully and quickly.
2. UC e-Links document from Patti Martin
Action: Farley will forward to HOPS background information relating to CDL staff assessment of the UC e-Links design, statistics on use of services listed on the menu and any other documents that might provide context for Martin's questions to HOPS.
All HOPS members will check with their electronic resource librarians for their comments on Martin's suggestions paying special attention to Q5&6.
All HOPS members will re-read the campus responses to BSTF by Terry Ryan at: http://libraries.universityofcalifornia.edu/sopag/BSTF/Responses.htm
Hughes will set up a conference call for July 28 to discuss what we've learned and our initial responses to Martin's questions. Martin will be invited to participate in this call.
3. IL CIG workshop
Action: Hughes will arrange for interested HOPS members to have a "de-brief" after the August 10 meeting (including dinner early near the airport)
Hughes will investigate the possibility of mounting a streaming video/audio of the keynote address. The electronic poster sessions will be mounted on the CIG page for future reference by all.
Hughes will suggest to the CIG that some kind of "summary of the day" or proceedings should be developed for the historical record.
4. General
Action: All HOPS members will consider the pros/cons of adopting a continuous improvement approach to launching CDL services so we can move forward when appropriate without being bound by academic calendar considerations.
Hughes will report on the July 18 meeting of BSTF, and the Chairs of SOPAG, HOTS, and HOPS.
