Conference Call

Present:  Barclay, Dawson, Farley, Friedman, Gomez, Hughes, Kautzman, Lucas, Persily, Stirling, Watstein

Absent:  Frenkel

1.  Update on Collaborative Reference.   Report on the meeting held at UCR. 

Watstein submitted a report  on the meeting recently held at UCR.   HOPS endorsed the idea of an annual meeting for this CIG.  Farley will explore whether CDL can host a WIKI for the CIG.


2.  HOPS request that CDL staff update the statistics and provide some high level trend analysis for all HOPS members.

The updated page is now at:   http://www.cdlib.org/inside/projects/uc-elinks/#ucelinkstats .   HOPS members will review and submit questions about the data via email.


3.  Confirmation of UC eLinks changes implementation so HOPS can alert campus constitutencies.

The target date for changes to UC eLinks is still late April, but it could slip into May depending on the results of the upcoming user testing at UCSD.


4.  Review the Goals for the Information Literacy CIG.

The goals of the Information Literacy CIG were approved with minor changes.  Hughes will convey those suggestions to the IL CIG chair.


5.  Telnet and the Melvyl upgrade

HOPS supports the need to discontinue Telnet service to Melvyl.  Most campuses will contact their local users to assist in this transition.


6.  Request for nominee to serve on implementation team for possible outcomes of the OCLC/BSTF discussions.

HOPS members will submit names to Catherine Friedman by February 22, 2007 at 5pm.
