Elsevier Journals - UC Status

In December 2003 the UC Libraries completed negotiations with the publisher Reed-Elsevier. Effective January 1, 2004 the UC community has access to a selected list of approximately 1,200 of the company’s scholarly journals, including titles produced by Harcourt Health Sciences, Academic Press, and Cell Press. The five-year contract accommodates the University’s budget situation without sacrificing access to the titles selected by each campus.

The previous contract included gratis online access to some titles that had not been selected for access, nor previously subscribed in print by UC. Access to 2004 and later issues of those titles, shown in list 3 below, are not included in the current contract.
