Campus Collections

Together, the collections of the University of California campus libraries total 32 million volumes, as well as numerous maps, manuscripts, microforms, audio, video, and pictorial materials. The vast majority of faculty and student information needs are satisfied by the holdings of their campus libraries, which are the foundation of the University's collection.

Campus libraries provide:

  • Onsite print and digital holdings.
  • Access to their own collections through local catalogs.
  • Access to the Melvyl® Catalog of all Universitywide holdings.
  • Customized web sites that provide access to unique or noteworthy resources.
  • Instruction in library research skills.
  • Personalized services to faculty, students, and people in their local communities.
  • Electronic reserves for locally taught courses.
  • Civic programs that enrich the region's cultural life.
