SLASIAC's Standing Subcommittee on Copyright Policy

The Standing Subcommittee on Copyright Policy (SSCP) results from the merging, in 2006, of the former Standing Committee on Copyright into the Systemwide Library and Scholarly Information Advisory Committee (SLASIAC). As described in the current SLASIAC charge, "The Subcommittee is specifically charged with the development and maintenance of copyright-related UC policies." The Subcommittee is expected to:

  • Advise on initiating new policies and revising (or rescinding) old ones,
  • Advise on any copyright-related aspects of the scholarly information issues that come before the parent committee,
  • Identify and explore academic copyright-related issues that the subcommittee feels should be brought to SLASIAC for further discussion, and
  • Be involved in dissemination of copyright information and the consultative work of the UC Copyright Education Website.
