This Month in SILS and UC Library Search for April 2021

Dear Colleagues,

The SILS Phase 4 Cohort has introduced a new pilot communications initiative intended to provide a monthly high-level summary of information for both project implementation and the end-user service.

A reminder that the Q2 UC-Wide SILS Town Hall is scheduled for Monday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to noon; here is the participation link. In addition to a presentation by the End User Outreach Subgroup, a roundtable discussion will bring a variety of perspectives on the topic of: What Changes Will UC Library Search Bring to Library Culture and Operations?

Key SILS Project Updates

  • All 10 UC campuses are continuing work in their Alma-Primo testing environments, and are also working on third-party integrations through May.
  • The Acquisitions and E-Resources Functional Group is continuing work on import profiles for vendor activity (e.g., GOBI, etc.) and electronic resources inventory management across Community, Network, and Institution Zones.

Key UC Library Search Updates

  • The third UC Library Search news release, with an emphasis on systemwide searchability enhancements, will be distributed at the campus level the week of April 12.

Please explore the SILS Confluence wiki for ongoing project progress. If you have any questions or comments, please contact
