I am thrilled to announce that Anna Striker has been appointed as CDL’s Systemwide Library Planning Senior Analyst, with a planned start date of February 05. The Systemwide Library Planning (SLP) program resides within CDL and provides collaborative leadership and analytic support for the diverse portfolio of UC Libraries planning and strategic initiatives. On issues of policy and governance, SLP advances coordination among CDL, UC Office of the President administration, UC campus libraries and systemwide committees. As the SLP senior analyst, Anna will hold critical leadership responsibilities for project management, facilitation and strategic planning activities within the SLP team and for the UC system, and serve as the direct supervisor of the systemwide library data and information services teams.
Anna first joined CDL and the University of California in August 2019 as the Shared Print Operations and Collections Analyst in the Shared Collections Program, reporting for both the Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST) and UC Libraries’ shared print initiatives. Over the past four and a half years, Anna’s role and expertise has further expanded in project management, assessment, strategic planning and analysis, and she has been a key contributor in UC and WEST’s cross-regional collaborations, the Rosemont Shared Print Alliance and the Partnership for Shared Book Collections. It is through Anna’s shared print work that many of you are already familiar with her deep commitment to collaboration and shared success, and tremendous technical and analytical skills. Alison Wohlers, Anna’s current manager, shares: “Anna’s impact across the shared print community cannot be overstated. Her integrity, kindness, and curiosity have made her a deeply valued colleague and leader at the local, regional, national, and international levels of shared print collaboration. I will miss her on the Shared Print Team very much, but am delighted that she continues to grow her career at CDL.”
Prior to joining UC, Anna worked in the Access Services department of Georgetown University’s Lauinger Library, steadily taking on greater responsibility and serving in positions of increasing leadership and complexity, with her last position being Stacks Services Supervisor. Anna received her BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia and completed her MLIS (while working full time!) at San José State University. Outside of work, Anna enjoys reading about early Hollywood, watching bad movies, and exploring East Bay parks and breweries.
While Anna’s new position with SLP begins in early February, she has graciously agreed to extend her support for WEST and UC Shared Print activities on a part-time basis between February 05 and 23; she will then commence her SLP role full-time on February 26.
Please join me in welcoming Anna to her new role!
