CAG Holds & Recalls

Berkeley

  • All patrons may place recalls, except for Reference. Card holders who may only recall Gov Docs checked out at least 1 month ago.

Davis

  • UC students, staff, & faculty can place holds and recalls using the Request feature in Harvest or at a circulation desk. External borrowers may purchase recall/hold cards for $10 for 5 holds or recalls. See: Holds, Recalls, & Searches

Irvine

  • Items may be recalled after 14 days.

Los Angeles

Merced

  • Holds
    • Holds can be placed only for materials that are already checked out to someone else
    • In Melvyl use the Place Hold button to recall an item
    • If an item is available (on the shelf) you must come to the library, retrieve it from the shelf and then check it out
  • Recalled Materials
    • Books and other materials are subject to recall one week after you check them out
    • Recalled items have been requested by someone else
    • Recalled items must be returned immediately
    • Failure to return recalled items promptly will result in a suspension of your borrowing privileges

Riverside

  • UC Faculty, staff & students may recall and place holds. $11.00 1st day overdue plus $1.00/day, thereafter, up to $21.00 and bill for book.

San Diego

  • Overdue and Class Reserve items may not be recalled. Only UCSD Faculty, Staff or Students can place recalls.

San Francisco

  • Items aresubject to recalls with 14-day minimum usage. Holds/recalls may be placed by UCSF or non-UCSF borrowers, in person, on-line, or by phone.

Santa Barbara

  • Items subject to immediate recall by Reserves or after 3 wks by another borrower. $1 day overdue up to $20; Rush recall $2.50/day up to $20.

Santa Cruz

  • All borrowers may place recall or holds; Books may be recalled after 14 days; Holds may be placed on journals immediately; $6 processing fee except for reserves $1 per hour to $25.

Southern Regional Library Facility
