Primo Test Environments for SILS Vanguard Institutions Now Live

Dear colleagues,

Between Sept. 16 and 21, the six SILS vanguard institutions were presented with their test environments for Ex Libris’ Primo VE discovery platform.

Primo VE testing will take place through October in instances at the following institutions: UC Berkeley (including Northern Regional Library Facility), UCLA (including Southern Regional Library Facility), UC San Diego, UC San Francisco, UC Santa Barbara and the California Digital Library (CDL).

Throughout September and October, the SILS Internal Training Group is stewarding training and certification on the use of ExLibris’ Alma and Primo VE products, for both SILS cohort members and local implementation teams at vanguard institutions.

Key takeaways from these concluding activities of the vanguard phase will be shared broadly and the experiences will inform the implementation decisions made as a system. The SILS implementation phase for all institutions is scheduled to take place between Nov. 2020 and July 2021.

While a subset of campuses are participating in the vanguard, work is occurring throughout each phase of the migration by all campuses, including policy and practice coordination as well as outreach activities.

We invite you to explore the SILS Confluence wiki for ongoing progress towards go-live on July 27, 2021. If you have any questions or comments, please contact AskSILS-L@listserv.ucop.edu.

Best,
Ben Alkaly & Adrian Petrisor
