Title: Expectations around confidentiality and the SILS project
You might be wondering why more project information isn’t readily available on the SILS website, or why the SILS project wiki isn’t public. To maintain the integrity of the request for proposal (RFP) process and the confidence of suppliers entrusting UC with proprietary information, it is critical that the libraries avoid publicly sharing certain project details at this time, including potential requirements and confidential information concerning potential ILS suppliers.
As UC employees, we must all take care not to disclose information pertaining to the contents, status or ranking of any proposal or UC’s evaluation process outside relevant SILS cohort* and campus group members. The SILS working group greatly appreciates your understanding and patience as we move forward with this process.
Though we’re restricted in what we can publicly broadcast, the working group is committed to project transparency across the system; SILS presentations and tailored outreach are being carried out locally, and we’re planning systemwide informational webinars. If you have any questions or comments about the project, you can also contact your campus liaison or AskSILS-L@listserv.ucop.edu directly.
*The phase 3 group members (campus liaisons, expertise groups, and the working group) make up the current SILS cohort.
