Introducing the SILS Transition Task Force

Dear Colleagues,

With the Dec. 23 end date for the SILS Phase 4 project approaching, a Transition Task Force (TTF) has formed to develop and oversee onboarding and orientation for all new groups to the University of California Libraries Advisory Structure (UCLAS)-integrated SILS structure.

The Ongoing SILS Structure commences operation Jan. 3, with the Transition Task Force charged by the SILS Working Group to coordinate the preparation plans and activities necessary to nominate, onboard, kickoff and support these new – and continuing – SILS participants. Among other responsibilities, the TTF will plan and host virtual kick-offs for the groups and other related onboarding activities including populating collaborative work space(s) and communication tools.

The Transition Task Force is comprised of:

  • Donald Barclay, UC Merced, Direction and Oversight Committee (DOC) Liaison
  • Christine Barone, SILS Project Manager, co-chair
  • Sarah Houghton, California Digital Library
  • Michelle Polchow, UC Davis
  • Hermine Vermeij, UCLA
  • Lena Zentall, SILS Project Manager, co-chair

You can read the task force’s full charge and deliverables on the SILS website, while its dedicated Confluence space contains meeting notes and other information.
