Years active: 2008-2009
NOTE: Beginning July 2013, the University of California Libraries launched a revised advisory structure. The groups within the previous structure are no longer active, including this group. See UC Libraries Advisory Structure (UCLAS) for information about the current structure.
Group Description
The Acquisitions Common Interest Group (ACIG) advised and assisted the Heads of Technical Services (HOTS) wherever necessary to ensure the most effective outcomes regarding planning and processing in UC Libraries Acquisitions Departments. ACIG advised HOTS on the need for system-wide discussion and communication on particular issues. ACIG also made recommendations to HOTS on the development of acquisitions policies and practices which assist in ensuring effective and timely purchasing of needed materials. Where appropriate, ACIG served as a resource on acquisitions issues for other system-wide groups.
