The Council Of University Librarians (CoUL) has approved the UC Libraries Metadata Sharing Policy. The final version is available from the UC Libraries website: https://libraries.universityofcalifornia.edu/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Final_UC_Libraries_Metadata_Sharing_Policy_May8_2015.pdf
The policy was written by the Metadata Policy Project Team, charged by Strategic Action Group 2: Access, Discovery & Infrastructure (SAG2). Through an iterative process, the Project Team worked closely with SAG2 and consulted with the other two Strategic Action Groups and the Collection Licensing Group, as well as relevant Common Knowledge Groups. This policy nicely provides a set of guidelines for sharing metadata managed by the UC Libraries and fulfills a longstanding goal of the Council of University Librarians.
