Dear Colleagues,
Below is the final monthly high-level summary of information for both project implementation and the end-user service, to keep the UC Libraries community informed in advance of go-live on July 27, 2021.
Key SILS Project Updates
- Go-live for UC Library Search at all campuses remains on schedule for Tuesday, July 27.
- Exact timing of launch will be determined campus-by-campus.
- All campuses and the California Digital Library delivered final data and documents to Ex Libris by the June 18 deadline.
- The implementation coordinators, policy and practice chairs, and SILS service manager are developing processes to report and track known issues and bugs after go-live.
- At its June meeting, the Council of University Librarians (CoUL) approved the ongoing shared governance structure to commence in January 2022. Charges and details will be announced this summer.
- SILS phase 4 continues past go-live, until December 23.
- The Internal Training Group is supporting local training teams and planning for an analytics workshop in September. Please contact your Internal Training representative with any questions about the upcoming analytics workshop. The campus implementation teams are in the process of training library staff at each campus.
Key UC Library Search Updates
- The patron-facing UC Library Search homepage contains a useful table detailing which discovery platforms to use before and after July 27.
- A customizable news release, announcing the launch UC Library Search, will be distributed at all campuses on or around July 27. Here is an archive of past releases.
Please join us for a town hall event on Monday, Aug. 2 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. (changed from 10:30-noon) as we celebrate our collective efforts bringing UC Library Search to fruition.
